Yet another stupid law being proposed. All UK dog owners will have to pay insurance just in case the dog happens to attack someone. This is an attempt to tackle dangerous breeds.

Okay that makes no sense. How is this meant to tackle dangerous breeds at all?
So, for example, we have a Golden Retriever at home, so my parents will have to pay insurance, just in case he attacks someone... Yeah, I still fail to see how that tackles the issue at hand.

But on a serious note, It wont go through, that is an absolute stupid idea, owners should just be held accountable for their pets actions and not be forced to pay a tax in the event it might happen, as your punishing people before they are proven guilty, as essentially its assuming they pet will attack.. which it might not, so why punish the owner for nothing.

I know it won't get passed, the 3 strikes internet law got removed at the house of lords, at least someone in government has common sense.

See, i do understand how it could work, you introduce an insurance scheme and charge a load on the "dangerous" breeds, thus putting people off in favour of the nicer dogs. But really, it wouldn't work, and is completely unfair if you have say a chihuahua, sure those dogs can be pretty mean, but something that size would never do much damage to anyone.
