For those of you that are unaware, the figment of our imagination that is of course the Duke Nukem Forever release date has actually become reality.

Following the confirmation on Friday that Gearbox is reviving Duke Nukem Forever, the studio now says it owns Duke. Gearbox obtained the rights to "Duke Nukem and all future projects" from former franchise owner 3D Realms.

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford told a crowd the news at his company's panel at PAX today. Gearbox fired off a press release to make it official.

"The Gearbox Software team and I are ecstatic that we have grown to a position to be able to pick up and carry the torch and help Duke rise back to glory in his time of need," Gearbox president Randy Pitchford said in the press release today. "Fans of the legendary hero and all the incredible talent that have ever helped him all deserve the very best support that we can bring. Please join me in supporting Duke in his triumphant return so that we may all enjoy the unique, one-in-million entertainment experience that only Duke Nukem can bring."

The former owners of Duke Nukem forever, Scott Miller and George Broussard of 3D Realms also weighed in in the release:

"Gearbox was handpicked as the new home for Duke Nukem because of their continued passion, commitment and long-time heritage with the brand and 3D Realms," Miller said. "Gearbox and Duke Nukem make for a devastating match made in video game heaven. The gaming community's love and demand for the Duke Nukem brand never wavered and Gearbox will not disappoint them. As you have seen from titles such as Borderlands, Gearbox will bring the right level of addictively compelling gameplay, humor and high powered explosive action to the franchise. Duke Nukem is back and will be bigger than ever."

"Gearbox was the only home appropriate for the Duke Nukem brand," Broussard added. "They are very talented and possess the perfect perspective and understanding of the brand. Their vision for its future direction is exciting and unbelievable. I am personally cannot wait for fans to see their unique take on the franchise This will be a win-win situation for everyone involved, especially the fans."

UK Defense Secretary Calls for Medal of Honor Ban

Well it looks like the higher-ups are at it again, trying to call for yet another ban on something they have no idea about. This extract was written by Logan Westbrook of http://www.escapistmagazine.com

British defense secretary Liam Fox has urged retailers not to stock the upcoming Medal of Honor game, saying that he is disgusted that the game allows players to be the Taliban.

Anger at EA's Medal of Honor allowing players to assume the role of Taliban soldiers in the game's multiplayer has reached the upper echelons of the British government today, as Fox expressed his disgust for the game, and called upon British retailers to ban it from their shelves.

Fox said that he found it hard to believe that anyone in the country would want to buy such an "un-British" game, and that he was shocked that anyone would think that a game where you could be the Taliban was acceptable. "At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands," he said. "I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product." A spokesperson for EA said there that Medal of Honor was just a game, and merely reflected the fact that conflicts has two sides. She likened it to a game of cops and robbers, saying that somebody had to be the bad guy.

As I understand it, it would be illegal for the UK government to try to ban Medal of Honor itself, which is presumably why Fox is trying to guilt trip retailers into banning it for him. It's not hard to see why Fox is upset - EA knew this would be controversial when it was making the game - but it's still a little sad to see an elected official respond in such a knee-jerk manner.

I've played and completed the first, and have just started myself a new character to play through it again The game is made of so much awesome its unbelievable!

Bioware have in fact though just released a cinematic trailer for it, and it looks as sexy as usual

So long till its release date but cant wait D:
I wanna pre-order it but I'm waiting to hear about a collectors edition

It just seems to get worse and worse for Microsoft's upcoming motion-sensing camera Kinect.
Following on from reports suggesting that you'll need to stand up in order to use the device, and the revelation that significant space will be required for the camera to see you, it now appears that you - or your mum, at least - is going to have to dress a certain way if they want to 'jump in' with Kinect.
According to a report on TechRadar, a woman attempting to play Kinect Sports while dressed in a long skirt simply couldn't due to the device not being able to "see enough of her legs".

"Evidently you'll have to dress suitably to play Kinect."
Oh dear.
Considering Kinect's casual-friendly focus, this seems to be another blow for the device which has already been scrutinised by much of the industry for its apparent shortcomings.
Kinect launches on Xbox 360 this November. Don't bring a skirt.

Why I was banned: I was banned because i was "Pissing her off". To me, thats a personal thing that she should of not banned me for. I was not being offensive to her. I was just playing the game. Maybe she got anoyed that i was pretty much killing everyone all the time. But to me. This seems like an unfair ban, that she has a personal grudge against me, because i wasnt violating any of the server rules <3
